We hope you have enjoyed a restorative April vacation. As our educators return to the classrooms, the work continues on two fronts to fight for the schools our #StudentsDeserve.
We will be delivering petitions for the schools and contract our #StudentsDeserve to the School Department in May. We have been without a contract for eight months and are ready to settle a contract that adequately addresses the needs of our students and educators. Add your voice to the thousands of members, parents, and community allies who share are our vision and priorites for improving our schools!
Please take 30 seconds to sign the petition if you haven’t already done so!
Please also help us to spread the word by viewing and sharing the video below, featuring highlights of our rally on March 20. Share it on Facebook, Twitter and social media!

On a statewide level, the BTU is joining allies from school districts and organizations statewide to pressure our lawmakers to pass the PROMISE and CHERISH Acts! Mark off May 16 on your calendars. For those of you can join us at 2 PM, we will be meeting with lawmakers, calling on them to end the generations-long underfunding of public education throughout the state. Then, we will be joined by students, educators, and community allies from around the state at a rally outside at 5 PM. See the flyer here and RSVP on Facebook! Help us get the word out!
