Teacher Leadership Working Group: Deadline September 30
This working group of educators and BPS staff will be developing a Teacher Leadership strategy for the district. In addition to monthly meetings, activities include conducting an inventory of leadership roles, interviewing teacher leader colleagues, conducting focus groups, and sharing the work with your networks and communities. See the full job description and apply . Professional Learning Advisory Board (PLAB): Deadline October 6
A working group of BPS educators dedicated to improving professional learning for all ill work on advising the Telescope Network, The Teacher Leadership Working Group, and more. See the full job description and meeting dates here, and apply here. Stipend $1,000. Deadline: October 6.

NEW — Teaching Upper Elementary Sciences Standards with Outdoor Spaces: September 28 & October 5
Held at the Museum of Science and Arnold Arboretum, teachers of Grades 3-5 will receive a deepening understanding of plant and animal adaptations, playground physics, and earth materials through engaging, hands-on activities they can take back to their students. This is a two-part session. 10 PDPs available. Read more and register.

NEW — Make Planning Manageable – Support for Early Career Teachers
Want support planning in an effective and efficient way? Join Make Planning Manageable, a group for early career teachers looking for support with unit planning and designing lessons each week. Group members will have access to real-time coaching and should leave each session with the next week of lessons fully planned. Teachers who participate will earn two ALCs (subject to approval) toward a salary lane change. Read more information and register. (Note: This pilot program is limited to secondary teachers, and space is limited. Priority to teachers in years 2-5.) 

NEW — New Teachers Thriving: Member Benefit for Early Career Educators
Being a new teacher can be really hard! That’s why we’ve partnered with New Teachers Thriving to to give you concrete strategies to attend to your self-care and avoid burnout from common pitfalls that new teachers face so you can be your best for your students. Those who complete the course requirements are also eligible for a credit toward salary lane advancement. The course meets once a month beginning October 7. See dates and details, and register to attend. Open to BTU members in years 1-3.
