3rd Annual BPS-BTU Teacher Summer Institute: Proposals Deadline June 12
TSI 2019 will be a one-day learning extravaganza on Tuesday, August 20. We need YOU to make it great! Save the date! Come learn with and from colleagues from across the district. Share your practice! The best part of TSI are the educator-led sessions. We are seeking proposals for educator-led sessions and invite you to share your knowledge and skills – apply today. Proposals are due June 12. Presenters earn an honorarium.

Become a National Board Certified Teacher
Are you interested in starting the process of National Board Certification? The BPS/BTU National Board Program currently has two types of support sessions available. General Information sessions are online and provide a basic overview of National Board Certification. Candidate Drop-In Support sessions provide a launch for candidates who are working on Components 2 and 4. After the initial face-to-face session, candidates will receive follow-up support online. Please complete our registration form to enroll, or contact us at nationalboard@bostonpublicschools.org. General Information Sessions (online): June 4 at 5:00pm (1 hour) and June 12 at 4:00pm (1 hour). Candidate Drop-In Support Sessions (in person): June 13 at 4:30pm (3 hours) at the BTU.

NEW — Arnold Arboretum Summer Institute: Investigating Ecosystems Through Fieldwork 
The Arnold Arboretum offers a free, 5-day summer institute from August 12-16 aimed at educators of 6th – 12th graders. Participants will learn and practice fieldwork techniques in the study of two ecosystems: an urban forest and a meadow. 

2019-2020 Teacher Leadership Fund Grantees Announced
Congratulations to the 24 teams who have been awarded grants in this year’s Teacher Leadership Fund (TLF) cohort. The TLF is a feature of our contract which empowers teams of educators to address challenges facing marginalized students. The grantee teams came together last week at the BTU to build community and make connections across grants. We look forward to learning with and from their work.

Suffolk University Course Scholarships: Deadline June 10
BPS educators can enter a scholarship lottery to earn graduate credit at Suffolk University for free! If selected, educators will be able to choose an online or on-campus graduate level course to take this fall. To be eligible, winners must have completed a bachelor’s degree and must be able to provide an undergraduate transcript. Enter Lottery for Free BU Course Voucher: Deadline June 14
The BU Consortium is offering current BPS educators (.5 FTE or higher) a chance to win a free course voucher. Two winners will be drawn to receive a voucher for one 4-credit course at BU. Educators should submit their names via this Google Form.
