DEADLINE — Important Information about BPS Fingerprinting and Background Checks: December 14 Deadline
A 2013 change in legislation requires all Boston Public Schools (BPS) employees to submit to a national background check (i.e. fingerprinting) and to resubmit their Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check checks every three years. If you receive an email from BPS with a link asking you to reauthorize your CORI check, please submit your authorization.
NEW — BPS Incentive for Early Notice of TerminationIn an effort to assist in early planning and hiring for the 2019-2020 academic year, BPS is once again offering a $1,500 incentive to eligible members of the teachers unit who inform us of their intent to terminate at the end of the school year. The application for the incentive must be submitted by January 11. Submitting the application does not mean you have retired. You must go to the Boston Retirement Department at Room 816 in City Hall to retire. Additionally, submitting the early notification of intent to resign is irrevocable.
