2017 BTU Fund for Teachers Fellows Announced
Congratulations to the first cohort of educators awarded Fund for Teachers grants since the BTU became the local partner for this wonderful program! This summer, we are proud to have awarded 11 fellowships to 19 educators from 15 schools who will be traveling and learning in 16 countries on 5 continents. Committee on Teachers Assigned to Suitable Professional Capacity: First Meeting
Per membership resolution, the first meeting of the committee to support teachers assigned in a suitable professional capacity will take place on Tuesday, May 9 from 4-6 PM at the BTU. The committee will work to further understand the specific issues faced by permanent teachers who the School Department refuses to assign to a position and to create resources for building representatives to support these teachers. Bachelors Degree Completion for BPS Paras
Are you a BPS paraprofessional without a Bachelor’s degree who wants to become a licensed classroom teacher in the Boston Public Schools? If yes, then the JET Program may be for you. Journey into Education and Teaching (JET) is a nonprofit educational program partnering with the Boston Public Schools Office of Human Capital (OHC). JET offers a multi-year cohort based teacher pipeline program for BPS paraprofessionals without Bachelor’s degrees.
