Orton-Gillingham Training this August
The Office of Special Education is offering Orton-Gillingham Training this August. The IMSE (Institute for Multi-Sensory Education) approach allows teachers to incorporate into their daily lessons the five components essential to an effective reading program: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension strategies. Read more information about the program. The training will be held August 7-11 from 8 AM to 3:30 PM. S​pace is limited, and the application will close on May 25. Important Note for Schedule A Schools Regarding PD Scheduling
As part of the agreement to extend the school day, the BTU and BPS agreed to return to the 2007-2010 contract language regarding scheduling of PD hours. In all Schedule A schools staff must vote to approve the PD schedule for the next school year by June of the preceding year.
