NEW — Stipend Opportunity: Facilitators Needed for “New Teachers Thriving”
The BTU is excited to launch year two of our partnership with New Teachers Thriving, a program which helps new educators understand and avoid the most common pitfalls that undermine the first year experience and which contribute to high levels of burnout, personal unhappiness, and job dissatisfaction.  We seek BTU members interested in co-facilitating program sessions for the 2019-20 school year and possibly beyond. Lead Facilitator and co-facilitator positions available depending on interest, availability and qualifications. See details here and apply ASAP.

NEW — Conant Fellowship Info Session: September 11
Join the Harvard Ed Portal’s Public School Partnerships team and Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Admissions Office from 4:30-6:30pm for an information session about the James Bryant Conant Fellowship opportunity. This fellowship is available exclusively to teachers and administrators in the Boston and Cambridge Public Schools and funds one year of study at HGSE for admitted students. The information session will be held at the Harvard Ed Portal, 224 Western Avenue, Allston. Please register online.  If you are unable to attend the session and have questions, please contact Paul.

NEW — Eliot School Professional Development Workshops 2019
Workshops this year focus on social, emotional and behavioral health and well-being in teachers and students through art-making. These workshops are open to teachers, teaching artists, parents and other interested adults. You may attend all three or choose among them. Teachers are eligible to receive 10 PD Points after completion of the entire 3-part series plus submission of a completed lesson plan. See their website for more information. 

Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation Grant Program
This grant is for any Paraprofessionals interested in becoming a teacher. It provides financial assistance to Massachusetts residents currently employed as paraprofessionals in Massachusetts public schools. Financial need is not a requirement. Apply on their website.
