Mentoring for Professional Licensure (MPL): October 19, 5:30-6:30PM
To be eligible for a professional teaching license, the Massachusetts Department of Education requires an additional 50 hours of mentoring beyond the first-year induction program. In this course, you will receive that required mentoring from veteran BPS Educators as you reflect on and grow your teaching practice. On Vector, register for one of the three posted sections (Grades K0-3, Grades 4-8, or Grades 9-12) The first Mentoring for Professional Licensure session will be held virtually on Zoom, October 19th (5:00-6:30). We are happy to renew our partnership with Teachers as Scholars which provides BTU members an opportunity to learn from leading scholars in their fields. This year we are able to offer BTU members up to 30 full scholarships. If you are interested in attending a course, please review the lineup of courses, and then enter the drawing. Deadline September 16th! Winners will be selected at random in September. Important note: Many of the seminars take place during the school day. Should you enroll in one of these courses, you will need to make appropriate arrangements to be available to attend.

- The Examined Life: Greek Travel and Study Opportunity
Registration is now open for the 2023 THE EXAMINED LIFE: Greek Studies in the Schools program. The program includes a Study Tour of Greece, April 14-23, 2023, interesting and vibrant Saturday morning seminars, and the opportunity to earn 3 graduate credits through Framingham State University. The New England COSH Network comprised of COSH groups in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine, in collaboration OSHA Region I, are holding a 2 hour listening session for workers on the evening of Wednesday September 14th at 6pm via Zoom (Register at https://tinyurl.com/OSHAListens2022 ). - Observation and Feedback Course Year 10
Learn to be a stronger evaluator, coach, and colleague by learning ways to support teachers’ growth through observing and giving feedback. 1 ALC or 15 PDPs. See flyer to sign up.
