Congratulations to the Professional Learning Grant Winners!

We are excited to announce the winners of our second year of BTU Professional Learning Grants. This year’s winners come from a wide range of schools, grade levels and job roles. Check out the winners

here, and read their first blog posts of the year that explain how they became interested in their topics, and what they hope to learn this year. Winners will be updating their blogs through the year and will present workshops on their topics at the Professional Learning Conference on June 17.


Fund for Teachers: A GREAT Opportunity
Fund for Teachers awards grants directly to PreK-12th grade teachers for self-designed professional development experiences. Individuals may apply for up to $5,000, and teams may apply for up to $10,000.See here and visit the Fund for Teachers website for more info.

Boston Teacher Leadership Certificate Program

Registration is now open for the spring term of the Boston Teacher Leadership Certificate Program. This teacher-powered professional learning series features leadership development courses that were developed by BPS teacher leaders, for BPS teacher leaders. Beginning this January we offer two courses:
  • Shared Leadership: Thursdays at Edison K-8 School in Brighton
  • Professional Expertise: Thursdays at Roosevelt Upper School
Both courses begin January 22 and involve eight evening sessions from4:30-7:30 PM and three Saturday sessions from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
