Middle Grades Amplify Desmos Math Learning Site: March 18, 8:15am-2:15pm

If you or an educator you know is looking to see the Amplify Desmos math curriculum in the middle grades in action, this is an opportunity to join other educators for a day in a live classroom around a common area of practice. This learning site on 3/18/26 places the question of “How do we implement Amplify Desmos to create inclusive, student centered middle school math learning experiences?” within the context of a diverse classroom. Come see a 7th grade math class at Tech Boston Academy, led by Emily Kmetz and Lauren Weber (7th grade teachers), where students are doing the heavy lifting, collaborating, and using math vocabulary. After the observation, educators have a chance to think through and debrief with the host teachers around the hows and whys of their teaching practice. This PD includes 3 follow up virtual sessions where educators try out a small change in their own practice and reflect on the process with colleagues.

MFA Educator Institute Teaching “America at 250”: August 10-14, 2026

Massachusetts educators engage in five days of active learning with the MFA’s newly installed 18th-century Art of the Americas galleries, connecting works of art with their curricula through transferable object-based teaching strategies. By infusing historic and contemporary art into inclusive teaching practices, educators strengthen skills to support student understanding of the complex and nuanced stories of 18th century America. Institute participants plan concrete ways to utilize the collections from the MFA and cultural partners Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center and Massachusetts Historical Society using classroom teaching strategies, digital resources, distance learning programs, and student field trips. No cost. Space is limited. Application Deadline March 31, 2026
