  • Language and Power summit 2: Nov 19th, 4-7 pm
    “Participants will explore and reflect on routines and classroom practices around language use within the context of systemic and interpersonal power dynamics in order to improve a sense of belonging for students in BPS. Each session will afford participants an opportunity to hear from “Humble experts” around BPS who have demonstrated exemplary teaching and reflective practices. Each 3-hour summit will include: whole group framing activities, a panel discussion led by BPS teachers as they talk about their practice and a shared reading, affinity-based table group discussions, and structured time to collaboratively plan applications of learning. ”Links:

  • Implementing the Stations Model for SLIFE Classrooms
    The Telescope Network and the Office of Multilingual and Multicultural Education invite you to a professional development opportunity for SLIFE educators. Our topic is: “How can we use stations to support SLIFE students’ diverse academic and social-emotional needs while building foundational skills and readiness for grade-level content?”This professional learning experience includes an in-person peer observation at Ohrenberger School at 175 W Boundary Rd, Boston, MA 02132. Participants will complete one in person observation classroom along with 3 virtual sessions on Zoom.

    In-Person @ Ohrenberger on October 28th 2025, 10am-3pm OR on October 29th 2025 10am-3pm
    Virtual Follow-Up Session 1: on Zoom on November 10 at 4-5pm
    Virtual Follow-Up Session 2: on Zoom on November 17 at 4-5pm
    Virtual Follow-Up Session 3: on Zoom on November 24 at 4-5pm

    Come one, come all! We are looking for other folks who may be interested in learning from and collaborating with like-minded folks who are interested in exploring resources for/building out our Math MTSS! Please complete the attached form to indicate your interest in participating in the group and your potential availability.

 

  • SLIFE Learning Sites: Observe SLIFE in inclusion on November 17th or Observe SLIFE Math on November 18th from 9-2pm.
    Implementing Stations in a SLIFE Setting Learning Site: Join us at Brighton High School to see how stations can support SLIFE students’ diverse academic and social-emotional needs while building foundational skills and readiness for grade-level content. Participants will observe one live classroom session: SLIFE ESL Inclusion on November 17, 2025, or SLIFE Math on November 18, 2025. Participants will have the opportunity for continued learning through three follow-up virtual Zoom sessions, where they can test the implementation of a change idea from the observation in their own practice while reflecting on the process in a cross-collaborative space with peers and coaching support. Those who attend all sessions and complete an artifact are eligible for PD hours and 1 ALC credit.

  • Addressing Knowledge Gaps in Secondary Math (Connect & Share)
    Are you a secondary math or AP STEM teacher puzzling through how to balance your course curriculum requirements with the need to build students’ foundational skills? Join the BPS/BTU Telescope Network for a Connect & Share to collaborate with BPS secondary math colleagues on this topic. We will discuss how to cover grade-level content while catching students up on missing skills. This session will feature presentations on best practices from three secondary and AP math teachers from across BPS.
