As we mentioned in December 19th’s bulletin, a purposefully misleading mailer and communication from the anti-labor, union-busting, “Freedom Fund” Foundation was sent to many of our members earlier this week. This communication is NOT from the Boston Teachers Union, even though it is purposefully made to look like it was sent by our office. If you fill it out, your personal information will be collected by the so-called “Freedom Foundation” in Olympia, Washington. This is a nefarious ploy that has been used in several states to trick union members into weakening their own benefits by spreading confusion, misinformation and false promises.
Please DO NOT FILL OUT the misleading “Christmas Bonus”/Opt Out postcard, or reply to any emails or other communications from this foundation. Again, this is a billionaire-backed national organization that is now targeting BTU members in addition to public sector workers, such as AFSCME.
If you ever have questions about a communication that you think was sent to you by the BTU, you can always call our office for clarification. We can be reached at (617) 288-2000.
You can also learn more about this anti-labor, anti-union organization here.
Wishing you and yours a healthy holiday season.
President Tang on behalf of our officers, E-board and staff
