Boston Public Schools began distributing prepackaged breakfast and lunch at designated locations on Tuesday, joining other organizations that are trying to get food to the most vulnerable people during the coronavirus pandemic.At Blackstone Elementary School in the South End, Amanda Lara picked up food for her two grandchildren, ages 5 and 8, whose father was just laid off from his cleaning job.
“Right now, this is so important because the kids can have breakfast and lunch at home,” Lara, 60, said through a translator. “It would be difficult without it.”
