We hope you have had a restful and relaxing break. This week we continue Sticker Friday, and if you need stickers, please email Shanika. On Saturday we hold our winter conference.

Commonwealth Charter Schools drain an average of $1 million per Boston Public School from our individual school budgets every year. That is a tremendous amount of money. At the state house now is legislation that would expand charter schools, drain even more dollars and cause another crushing blow to our school finances. Even without the new legislation that will authorize up to 12 additional charters, the State’s DESE is poised to permit four Boston charter expansions (Neighborhood House Charter School and Brooke Charter Schools in Roslindale, Mattapan and East Boston). What can you do? Spend less than one minute sending an email to your state senator. All you need is your zip code. Send an email opposing more charter schools. Thank you!
