Good morning.
A few bookkeeping items: Last week there was a broken link for the Early Termination Incentive. The link is corrected here (for the circular) and below in the section description. The BTU office is closed 12/23, 24, and 25. We’re open 12/26 and 12/27 (Kids’ Party!). We’re also open 12/30 and the morning (until noon) of 12/31. Closed 1/1/14, then open 1/2/14, and 1/3/14.
At the membership meeting last week a number of members raised the issue of a new inclusion model being imposed citywide by the central office. The current model described in the BTU contract hasn’t changed. Please refer to the bold sections specifically which detail thecurrent contract language on inclusion. Incidentally, the BTU fully supports inclusion as a service delivery model and always has. Please contact Michael or Caren with any questions.
BTU Contract Implementation Update
Attention Paraprofessionals: If you hold a teaching license and wish to obtain as many as four interviews for a teaching position for the next school year, please contact Josefina Lascano. The BTU contract entitles you to up to four interviews provided you are licensed and recommended by the building principal.
Attention Teachers who complete MCAS-ALT Assessments: All SPED teachers who complete MCAS-ALT Assessments are entitled to a day of substitute coverage to take care of this work. If you didn’t get a day last school year, please email Denice Dwyer. Those who compete this task are entitled to a day of coverage each school year.
Staff who live in Boston and wish to send their own children to the school at which they work are reminded to fill out an application during the student assignment process listing their own school as a choice.
