Good day to each of you and Happy Thanksgiving. The BTU office will close at 2 PM on Wednesday and will remain closed on Thursday and Friday. The RTC office is closed on Wednesday as well. We hope you have a good and restful holiday with your friends and family.
The BTU has filed a charge with the state Ethics Commission alleging that at least two Mass Commonwealth Charters Schools used school funds, supplies, and email access to generate support for their rally on the Common last week. Transportation was also provided, as was student-release time, in order to insure a good turnout. Read the Ethics complaint and see separate Globe reports on the ethics charge and on the rally, which was attended by hundreds of students, parents and teachers.
Here are a few FAQs that routinely come into the BTU Office:
What should I do if I lose my P&D?
Those who lose their P&D are almost always entitled to compensations. See the form. Keep good records — they’re worth $28.30 per session.
What should I do if I lose my SEIMS period?
As above, those who lose their SEIMS time are almost entitled to compensation. See the form for payment. Keep good records.
What should I do if my principal says that there’s no money to compensate me?
File anyway, contact your field representative, and keep good records.
