What a pleasure it was getting to meet some of you at last week’s membership meeting and at this week’s phone banks! As we enter the home stretch of the election season I hope to connect with even more of you as we make calls and knock doors for our endorsed candidates. There are just 19 days before Election Day — and only 9 before early voting starts!

Boston is again offering an early voting period, during which you can visit any of the early voting locations to cast your ballot. The early voting period starts Saturday, October 28, with selected locations open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Different spots are open throughout the city on different days, and you can look up when an early voting location will be open near you at  www.boston.gov/departments/elections/early-voting-boston.

And if you haven’t yet registered to vote, there’s still time for you to make it official before the election! The deadline for registration is Saturday, October 28. For more information on how to register, including an online registration option, go to www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/elections/voter-resources/registering-to-vote.htm

BTU Phone Banks

As I mentioned above, we’ve started our phone banking outreach to BTU members, letting them know about the election and about our endorsed candidates. Join us and spend some time reaching out to your fellow BTU members about the importance of local elections! Phone banks will happen from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on:

  • Today! Thursday, October 1
  • Monday, October 23
  • Tuesday, October 24
  • Thursday, October 26
  • Monday, October 30

If you’d like to be part of a phone bank, please reach out to jmcinnis@btu.org! We would love to see you there. You don’t have to be there for the full time–whatever you can manage will be helpful.
