Degree Completion through BPS Partnerships with Higher Education Institutions: Any BPS employee who is in need of completing their degree and/or earning a Master’s Degree which includes a pathway to licensure can enroll with one of our two higher education partners at an employee discount. They offer an undergraduate degree completion program and a wide variety of graduate degree programming. There are also scholarships available specifically for Black and Latinx educators. - Thinking Through Art Winter Institute
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum presents Thinking Through Art, a professional development program for teachers of all subjects in Boston Public Schools proven to improve culturally responsive instruction and foster critical thinking and social-emotional learning. We introduce innovative, student-centered approaches that can be applied directly to the classroom to expand students’ learning horizons. Educators across BPS unite to exchange ideas, gain support, and receive valuable feedback from their peers and Museum educators. Thinking Through Art includes intensive professional development, a visual art curriculum, and free guided Museum visits – including transportation. A $100 materials fee covers all program components, with opportunities to earn Professional Development Points or graduate credits. Session 2 will include peer-led presentations of effective practices for the 5 aspects of emergent literacy. These sessions are open to MD, ABA, II educators.
